Speak with a Geek called upon Kraves Ronstadt PR for the launch of its consumer support services aimed at drawing potential users to its Web site for a free introductory trial. In order to present Speak with a Geek to the mass consumer audience, we initiated a media campaign targeted toward personal technology reporters at daily newspapers in the top 25 markets and wire services nationwide. We leveraged the holiday season to position the service as a way to help consumers through the difficult process of setting up computers and gadgets received as gifts. Before the campaign's end, the agency obtained coverage for Speak with a Geek in more than 25 top daily newspapers reaching over 7 million readers.
Months later, the San Diego-based company once again enlisted Kraves Ronstadt PR's media expertise to launch its corporate technical support service program. We targeted IT/computer and business magazines, national publications with tech-related columns and local newspapers, positioning Speak with a Geek as a money-saving alternative to contracting consultants or hiring IT staff. Additionally, KRPR offered editors free use of the service for their own technical problems. Over the course of the campaign, KRPR secured more than 20 media placements in publications nationwide, delivering Speak with a Geek's message to over 10 million readers.
The consumer media campaign generated coverage in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal,
Atlanta Journal Constitution, Boston Herald, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Kansas City Star,
